  1. Worst One First: What's the WORST task you have been avoiding? Do that FIRST. Get it done and it won't be running in your mind anymore! Do you have what you need to knock it out? Ok. Go. Come back when you're done. Don't keep reading these until you do it! SERIOUSLY! GO!

  2. Chunk it Down: Everything else will feel easier now! Break down another task into smaller, more manageable chunks. Kill the overwhelm by dividing your next task into bite-sized pieces. Now, do one chunk at a time, until it's done, or put the chunks on your calendar with a plan when you will finish them.

  3. Set SMART Goals: Have you heard this hack? SMART - Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. Apply this to your tasks. It makes everything easier. Don't even think about overthinking this!

  4. Use the Pomodoro Technique: We've mentioned this before, because it works. SET A TIMER for 25 minutes, and get to work, then take a short break. Repeat this cycle. The structured intervals help maintain concentration and break down the resistance to starting a task. You have a phone with a timer, use it.

  5. Visualize Success: FEEL that feeling of being DONE with another task. Visualization can be a powerful motivator, but FEELING is even more of one. FEEL the satisfaction, the sense of achievement, and the benefits that come with getting things done.

This blog post is short for a reason. I had it on my list to get done today, and I have to go somewhere very soon. So, I got it done, and I feel GREAT!
