Gen X Reboot Part 3 - The No Regrets Reboot
ONE DAY.
ALL OF THIS
WILL BE OVER.

Here are the top 5 things people regret when they're dying.
1. I wish I’d lived a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
2. I wish I worked less, and enjoyed and experienced more.
3. I wish I’d known how to express my feelings safely.
4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.
Take a breath, you ain't dead yet.
It's not too late.
You're not too old.
Wherever you are in life, change can happen. Some of us find our purpose early, others find it later.
All of us want to live a good life full of experiences and accomplishments.
We're pretty sure that nobody wants to live with regrets.
Consider these two questions:
Why aren't you living the life you want?
Do you even know what you really want?

We know how important it is to front-load major discussions with inspired emotions. Your success matters to us, so let's stir up some optimism with amazing quotes. Plug into a power source that feels bigger than yourself.
“Sometimes too late is just in time.”
- C.J. Carlyon

“Life always offers you a second chance.
It’s called tomorrow.”
- Stephen King

“For those of you who have childhood memories with pain or loss in them, it probably doesn't take much to recall those grievances and grudges. But as we look at the power of confronting the truth about your past, I hope that you can avoid the waste before the days turn into weeks, weeks turn into months, and months turn into years. You can take control. You can avoid wasted years. And it's never too late to start.”
- Kevin Leman
"It’s never too late to give up what you are doing and start doing what you realize you love."
– Hans Rosling
Are you feeling it? Let's deal with it.
STEP ONE - Spill the beans. Dream big, no, dream HUGE.
I thought that I would have __________ by now.
I regret that I have not ________ by now.
If my life was exactly what I desire most, it would look a lot like this:
Whatever you write is your business. Nobody has to know what your dreams are so just be honest.
Get really honest. Clarity leads to power and confidence.
-
Write out all of the details about the life you want.
-
Write the things you don't want anyone to know about!
-
When you know what your personal truth is, then you can actually make plans and create a vision for yourself!
Career, experiences, finances, family, friends, accomplishments, etc
STEP TWO - High Fives!
-
If you're still breathing, you have done something right in your life! You've likely created some amazing things. Let's hear it!
-
It's VERY important to avoid getting bummed out. Your accomplishments are valid! Give yourself full credit for all of them.
Here are my accomplishments that I feel proud of:
-
List everything no matter how big or small it feels.
-
Each one of them has made you the person you are today.
-
What brings you joy? Write down what makes you smile so you can see them!
-
When you write it, it brings more JOY into life, where you can FEEL it.
STEP THREE - Where is the love?
Here are the things that I love and can have more of:
-
List everything no matter how big or small it feels.
-
You want more pistachio pie? Write that down.
-
Feeling like visiting a beautiful waterfall? Spill it.
-
What did you do before that you haven't for a long time?
STEP FOUR - Make Your Bucket List
-
What do you desire to experience? Money is no object!
-
Make this list as real and as detailed as you can.
-
Take note of how you feel as you write this. The emotions are a catalyst for all the changes you need to make.
What I am ready to do that I have not yet done:
STEP FIVE - Make Your Fucket List
-
Are you over it? How many things occupy your life that you don't want anymore? It's time to confront them. Don't be afraid of this!
-
Decide what YOU will no longer allow to be a part of your experience. You have a right to set boundaries and to say "NO!"
What I no longer want or need in my life:
feelings, people, situations, obstacles, attitudes... Broccoli...
STEP SIX - Feelings Matter
-
How do you desire to feel? What does your ideal life feel like?
-
What you think about all day leads to your feelings. These feelings lead to actions (or inactions).
-
When you make a choice about how you want to feel, you will understand what kind of inner voices are influencing you.
-
Here are some nice prompts for you!
When I wake up, I desire to feel:
My relationships (work, personal, friends, partners) will feel:
When I am living my purpose and mission in life. It feels:
Looking in the mirror is not scary because I matter, I am deserving, and it feels:
I am authentic and real. When I am with other people, I feel:
FINALLY - What Needs to Change?
-
This may be the most challenging part of this course.
-
Our own lives required major changes in order to feel better. Some of these involved serious reconsiderations of lifelong beliefs, relationships, careers, and perceptions.
-
You deserve to have a fulfilling life too. What's it worth to you?
Find a place you can feel safe and comfortable. Write down everything you can imagine that you would like to change.
Whether it's your fault or not, you can change your situation.
Don't suppress anything, be bold! You're worth it! Let it all come out. Keep this list as a reference for when you do the Rabbit Hole Remedy again! Just take ONE things off the list and make a plan to do it!
“Any change, even a change for the better, is always accompanied by drawbacks and discomforts.”
—Arnold Bennett
“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new.”
—Socrates
“Don’t overthink everything, just begin.”
— Jeremie King
“Incredible change happens in your life when you decide to take control of what you do have power over instead of craving control over what you don’t.”
―Steve Maraboli
“Forget yesterday—it has already forgotten you. Don’t sweat tomorrow—you haven’t even met.
Instead, open your eyes and your heart to a truly precious gift—today.”
―Steve Maraboli
“When people are ready to, they change. They never do it before then, and sometimes they die before they get around to it. You can’t make them change if they don’t want to, just like when they do want to, you can’t stop them.”
―Andy Warhol
